CB Grey is a line of luxury scarves and accessories that are truly one of a kind. Featuring designs that are hand-drawn by founder, Courtney Buchanan, each piece tells a story. Specific to their names, the designs tell the unique stories of everyday yet extraordinary women. Our goal with each design is to CELEBRATE who these women are and what they represent and in turn, we strive to motivate other women to find the strength they need to be their own true, authentic self.

Each design has its own unique story -- inspired by everyday, yet extraordinary women, who embody characteristics that we value and admire. Characteristics that we want to inspire others to discover within themselves.
And these aren’t well-known or famous people -- they’re women just like you and me.
Our goal with each of our designs is to CELEBRATE who these women are and what they represent. To use the aesthetics of the artwork to honor their courage and authenticity -- and in turn -- share it with the world and motivate other women to find the strength they need to be their own, true, authentic self.

After testing and sourcing numerous fabrics from a variety of manufacturers, we chose our fabrics simply because they are the best. We pay attention to every detail, because we believe that thoughtfully designed clothing should stand the test of time.

Founded in 2020, CB Grey transcends the realm of silk accessories, embodying a fusion of art and empowerment. Like many entrepreneurs, navigating the pandemic presented its share of challenges. However, I found my strength and purpose during this time, transforming CB Grey into more than just a brand—it became a beacon of hope and inspiration.
Behind each CB Grey design lies a story—a tribute to a woman. Through the colors and motifs of the design, I seek to amplify their voices and celebrate their strength. However, our mission extends beyond aesthetics. We strive to make a tangible difference in people's lives, whether through hiring locally, championing sustainability through reusable packaging, or through various charitable initiatives, like when we donated hundreds of scarves to patients in the pediatric cancer unit at CHOA (read more here).
CB Grey is my quest to share my art through silk and the stories of other women through my designs. Despite the odds, I've persevered, growing the brand into a dreamy collection of intricate, optimistic pieces. My journey as a female entrepreneur has been marked by determination, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of empowerment.

Mallory's career evolved through a decade long journey in Atlanta's film world, culminating in leadership positions overseeing the artwork and the scenery creation on multiple sets and as a scenic foreman worked with a multitude of different artists. Outside of the film world she has always been involved with many artistic endeavors, projects, and collaborations. She received her degree in Psychology with a focus on Art from Georgia State University, enriching her approach to art and creativity.
After learning that she and Courtney had similar collegiate paths and interests, Mallory's collaboration with Courtney feels serendipitous. "We were meant to meet each other," Mallory reflects, highlighting the perfect timing of their meeting and eventual partnership.
Excited to have joined Courtney and CB Grey, Mallory sees this as the beginning of a wonderful partnership, friendship, and creative, inspiring journey, dedicated to using art to empower women and share their stories through CB Grey's designs.

Wanna see behind the scenes?
Here is a quick snippet of how a design begins. I go back and forth constantly between my iPad and illustrator. All the elements are hand drawn with an apple pencil and then I arrange and manipulate them in illustrator. I started this drawing with one theme in mind, but once I started playing with it in illustrator it took on an entirely different feel. It always amazes me how many times a design will change before it is finished!

Silk/Modal Blend
Modal fabric is a semi-synthetic fabric made from sustainably harvested beech tree pulp. Modal is often blended with other fibers like silk for strength and feel. Modal is considered a luxurious textile thanks to both its soft feel and high cost.
All of our shawls are a silk/modal blend.
